For Cine-Regio
The association Cine Regio, representing regional film funds, commissioned KEA European Affairs to complete an impact assessment study on the contribution of regional film funding to regional film culture, cultural diversity, local identity, social cohesion and economic growth. The study addresses the value of “localness” in various policies and support programmes (e.g. regional living lab initiatives, local creative clusters, etc.). Amongst others things, it focuses on the creative SMEs’ influence on the innovation capacities of other regional industries and research institutions, the closer economic impacts of film production on related service industries (hotels, catering, etc.), the role and value of regional film funding within the wider system of public film support in Europe and the role of regional film funds in fostering European co-productions and artistic collaboration across frontiers.
