The project:

Creative Tracks aimed at connecting young creative professionals worldwide, encouraging cross-innovation projects and facilitating collaboration with cultural and creative industries.

Our role

KEA was responsible for the mapping and analysis of creative networks across the world. As a result, more than 1200 networks have been involved so far. KEA also coordinated the Creative Tracks communication. As part of the communication activities, KEA organised two international conferences: b.creative – the global event for creative entrepreneurship to mark the official project launch in November 2016 and closure in November 2017.

Summary of the project

Creative Tracks was a two-year pilot project (December 2015-December 2017) aimed at connecting young creative professionals from Europe and third countries, encouraging cross-innovation projects and facilitating collaboration with cultural and creative industries. With a budget of one million Euro co-funded by the European Union, the project was embedded in the strategic approach to culture in external relations of the EU as a way to strengthen international dialogue and collaboration opportunities between creative professionals worldwide.

Creative Tracks was developed with the ambition to stimulate creativity as well as intercultural exchanges. The world’s diverse cultures made of countries’ distinctive histories, language, customs and geographies are a significant source of creativity.  Pluralism and openness to new influences are distinct features of creative entrepreneurs. The world’s future depends on the ability to transcend local identities to harness creativity but also to ensure diverse local identities coexist and exchange in an international context.

Creative Tracks has been the launching pad of b.creative, the global network for cultural and creative entrepreneurs.
