StratiGraph

Project summary

StratiGraph aims to revolutionize archaeological and paleontological documentation by developing open-source tools that integrate advanced knowledge graphs, artificial intelligence, and 3D field documentation. The project introduces a “validate-as-you-collect” methodology, enabling structured data capture during fieldwork, reducing post-processing time and enhancing semantic interoperability. It supports offline-first architecture, frugal AI, and multilingual tools, ensuring accessibility in low-connectivity environments. Validation is conducted across diverse European and Mediterranean sites, including Basilica Iulia (Rome), Sarmizegetusa Regia (Romania), and Santa Olalla (Spain). Integration with the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH) ensures long-term sustainability and alignment with EU digital heritage strategies.
