Discoverability of Diverse Cultural European Content in the Digital Environment

Project summary

This project aims to explore and improve the discoverability of diverse European cultural content in the digital environment. It addresses the challenges posed by digital platforms, algorithms, and curation practices that affect the visibility of European cultural expressions—particularly in music, books, performing arts, visual arts, and cultural heritage. The consortium will deliver a conceptual framework, mapping of policy measures, analysis of algorithmic impact, and policy recommendations. It will also organise stakeholder workshops and a public conference to validate findings and disseminate results. The project supports EU priorities on cultural diversity, digital transformation, and fair access to content. The work is structured into five tasks: inception, conceptual framework, mapping, algorithmic impact, and policy options. It includes literature reviews, interviews, surveys, focus groups, and data analysis. The consortium will also assess the transferability of good practices across Member States.
