Ukraine Cultural Policy Peer Review

Project summary

The project facilitated a peer review of Ukraine’s cultural policy by experts from other European countries who had conducted similar reforms. The review aimed to exchange good practices, provide advice, and support the Ukrainian government and stakeholders in assessing the state of culture policy reform. Key objectives included sharing experience on culture decentralisation, heritage protection, and public-private partnerships, identifying reform priorities, and proposing policy recommendations. The mission included meetings with government representatives, stakeholders, civil society, and international experts to gain a comprehensive understanding of the cultural policy landscape in Ukraine, informing legislative and strategic improvements aligned with European standards.
