The situation of theatres in the EU Member States

Project summary

This study mapped the social and economic profile of the theatre sector across EU Member States and Creative Europe programme countries. It aimed to fill knowledge gaps by collecting quantitative and qualitative data, identifying best practices during the COVID-19 crisis, and informing EU-level policy responses. The study supported cooperation between organisations and provided input for future policy recommendations.

KEA's contribution

KEA led desk research and literature review, conducted interviews with EU-level stakeholders, developed national case studies, supported a pan-European survey, and co-drafted all project reports. KEA also prepared content for the validation workshop and synthesised findings for the final report.
