Project summary

This study assessed the potential impacts of extending the scope of the Geoblocking Regulation to include audiovisual and non-audiovisual services that provide access to copyright-protected content. It was conducted in the context of the European Commission’s review of the Regulation under Article 9. The study used desk research, stakeholder interviews, a consumer survey, mystery shopping, and data analysis to provide integrated conclusions across sectors including audiovisual, music, e-books, and software/games.
