Study on "Mapping the creative value chains: A study on the economy of culture in the digital age"

Project summary

The study analysed how value is captured and distributed along the cultural and creative sectors’ value chains, from creation to commercialization. It examined the impact of digital solutions and new technologies disrupting these markets, identifying new actors, business models, and changes in roles and relationships. The study also assessed market imperfections and opportunities created by the digital shift and provided policy recommendations for fostering sector development and economic potential. The research involved mapping value chains in the music and audiovisual sectors, investigating distortions and opportunities, and offering EU-level policy insights to address imbalances and support sustainable growth of the cultural and creative sectors.
