Prospective Report on Big Data for Monitoring Educational Systems

Project summary

The report explored how advances in big data are expected to transform the monitoring of educational systems over a long-term perspective (10–30 years) and influence evidence-based policy development. It addressed the collection and use of large, diverse, high-velocity data from multiple sources, covering primary, secondary, and tertiary education. Key themes included student privacy, educational equity and efficiency, student tracking, assessment, and skills forecasting. The study provided insights on the potential governance implications and strategic opportunities for improving monitoring systems and policy decision-making across education levels.
