Project summary

The study analysed coaching education programmes across Europe with a focus on addressing gender issues. It mapped initiatives aimed at increasing female participation in coaching, highlighting women-only courses as the most prevalent and effective approach for boosting attendance and confidence. The research also noted the importance of course content over gender distribution and recognized ongoing challenges related to men’s privileges and systemic discrimination in sport. The study provided insights for improving accessibility of coaching education for women, including flexible timetabling, childcare provisions, and guidelines for preventing sexist behaviours.
