Five Years On: Mapping the Culture‑Based Climate Action (CBCA) Research and Evidence Landscape

Project summary
This project provides a comprehensive mapping and synthesis of the global culture‑based climate action (CBCA) evidence landscape since COP26, positioning culture as a core driver of people‑centred climate action. Commissioned by the British Council, the study consolidates fragmented evidence across cultural policy, heritage, education, youth engagement, creative practice, and sustainability in the cultural and creative sectors.
Through systematic desk research, comparative analysis, and international stakeholder consultation, the project benchmarks British Council approaches against global practice, identifies strengths and gaps, and formulates actionable recommendations to support programming, partnerships, and policy engagement ahead of COP30.
