KEA is launching a new study on cultural crowdfunding in Wallonia-Brussels, commissioned by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles at the request of the Observatoire des Politiques Culturelles (OPC). The study will explore how cultural and creative actors in Wallonia and Brussels use crowdfunding to finance their projects — mapping platforms, analysing data trends, and identifying good practices to inform future policy.

Over the next 10 months, our team, together with expert Nathalie Courville, will combine data-driven research to quantify the amounts raised through crowdfunding with direct engagement across the sector. Nathalie brings an outstanding career in marketing and financing for the cultural and entertainment sectors, having collaborated with major crowdfunding platforms across Canada and Belgium.

We are especially eager to hear from cultural practitioners who have used crowdfunding, as well as representatives of crowdfunding platforms operating in Belgium or beyond.
