MESOC – measuring the social dimension of culture

Project summary

MESOC is a Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Action designed to propose, test, and validate innovative approaches to measuring the societal value and impacts of culture and cultural policies. It focuses on three crossover themes: Health and Wellbeing, Urban and Territorial Renovation, and People’s Engagement and Participation. The project adapts and develops a “transition-based” impact assessment method to capture the wider societal value of culture, responding to the H2020 call for new methodologies beyond economic impact.
