Mediterranean Dialogues – an itinerant festival (MedFest) is an itinerant cultural festival that connects countries and communities across the Mediterranean through arts and culture. It tackles shared challenges (migration, climate change, gender inequality, and social divides) by fostering artistic co-creation, participation, and dialogue in public spaces such as ports, parks, and beaches. The festival engages audiences traditionally excluded from cultural institutions, reframing access to culture as a fundamental right rather than a privilege. The project builds an interdependent network of cultural partners from EU and non-EU shores (Portugal, Tunisia, Malta, Cyprus, Albania, Belgium, and France). Activities include artistic residencies, harbour festivals, participatory workshops, and the pioneering “Museum Boat,” a sailing venue powered mostly by wind. MedFest promotes inclusive and sustainable cultural practices while creating opportunities for exchange, cooperation, and innovation across the Mediterranean.
